‘And if it responds to you peaceably and it opens to you, then all the people who are found in it shall do forced labor for you and shall serve you.’  ~ Deuteronomy 20:11

I have nothing informative, opinionated, nor especially interesting to post to-day.  I had a rough time last night; I went a few rounds with Insomnia and got my head handed to me.  Thankfully, just about the time I was dozing off at 3:30am, Dixie began to bark.  She barked incessantly.  Incessantly.  So, after putting her back in her pen (she had dug out–again) I gave slumber another attempt.  (As an aside, it was amazing how bright the moon was last night!  I didn’t even need a flashlight to take Dixie back to her pen, which is about 100 yards behind the house back in the woods.)

I was able to fall into a semi-sound sleep around 4:20am, which was quickly followed up by the alarm at 5:45am.  Needless to say, I’ll be snoozing in the passenger’s seat on the way up to Dallas this afternoon (as long as Gracie Mae allows) as Ashlee drives.

Pray for safe travel for us.  See y’all at church on Sunday (Lord willing)!

‘It’s galling to admit that Karl Marx had something right, but his idea of alienated labor points right at a fundamental transition from agrarianism to industrialism. What Marx meant was that industrialism takes something that was once an intimate part of a man, namely his labor, and turns it into a commodity that can be bought and sold on the open market.’

More of what our homeschooled children are ‘missing out on’: ‘The Dutch tale, which has been translated into English, is about a prince whose mother pressures him to find a princess but who ends up falling in love with and marrying the brother of one of the prospective brides instead.’

I used to really enjoy watching ‘Survivor.’  However, the immodesty of the contestants–especially the women–has accelerated to outright nudity.  No thank you.

I can’t believe Marian has never heard this song!

  1. I was surprised Marian hadn’t heard that song either. Someone needs to download that onto her phone fast! Sorry about your insomnia. Hopefully it’s just one of those one time dealies. (Oh and I found your blog through Brian’s blog— I’m not a stalker.) 😀

  2. That would be pretty funny, actually; can you imagine what folks who don’t know Marian and Hannah would think if their phones rang simultaneously with ‘It’s Raining Men’ and ‘Red, Red Wine’, respectively?

    Funny stuff.

P.S. Another insomniac night last night, this time at the In-Laws’ house. (But my M.I.L. watches Gracie Mae most of the time, so I fully expect to get a nap in at some point to-day.)
