‘The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less, than the half shekel, when you give the LORD’s offering to make atonement for your lives.’  ~ Exodus 30:15

The Police enjoyed an enormous hit with their single, ‘Every Breath You Take’ back in 1983.  (As a kid in junior high, I loved that song!)  Many folks mistook the tune for a love song and, in fact, it proved quite popular at wedding receptions.  But did you know that the song is really about a stalker?  As Sting put it: ‘It did surprise me that a lot of people responded to it on a different level than the way I wrote it.  I consider it a fairly nasty song; it’s a song about surveillance and ownership and jealousy.’

I’ll be watching you…

‘Virginia does not say to-day that Appomattox was for the best.  She can only say that she has made the best of Appomattox.’  ~ Douglas Southall Freeman

One of the issues at hand during the War of 1812 was U.S. opposition to the British practise of impressment which was little more than government-sanctioned kidnapping.  However, it appears, regardless of how angry and indignant we may have been about it in the past, the U.S. Government is quite enamoured with the practise these days.

Ron Paul in Oval Office

I can see it now: President Paul in the Oval Office!

Bodies fill the fields I see
Hungry heroes end
No one to play soldier now
No one to pretend

Running blind through killing fields
Bred to kill them all
Victim of what said should be
A servant ‘till I fall

~ Metallica, ‘Disposable Heroes’

I feel compelled to relate a story from a few weeks ago which gave us quite a chuckle.  Pastor Coleman, Uncle Norvie, Jamison, and I were in the Ayers’ living room talking as we waited for supper.  I made mention of Pastor Coleman’s reputation as a peripatetic preacher when Jamison, with a quizzical look asked us with all sincerity, ‘What is a paraplegic preacher?’

Tebow Heisman

That silly Tim Tebow–doesn’t he know that home schoolers are not supposed to win the Heisman Trophy?!!

Be sure you get acquainted with the Man for All Reasons.

Ron Paul has been studying economics for more than 40 years and he knows a thing or two about what is happening to the U.S. Dollar.  R. J. Rushdoony was a godly man–and a genius to boot–drew similar conclusions: Paper Money = Socialism.
